Strawberry season has officially arrived! Head to nearby Pasadena for the annual Strawberry Festival May 18 – 20 where the biggest strawberry shortcake in the world will be revealed. For just $15 for regular admission you’ll have a “berry” good time with the whole family. The opening ceremony starts at 5 p.m. on Friday with special Arena Stage events including the shortcake reveal, $25 helicopter rides, juggling acts, pig races, and the Buzz Berry Kids Adventure Zone opens for the weekend.
The Arena Stage hosts some of the best acts in music for the entire weekend. Every year, this festival gets bigger, and there are a few surprises in store for 2018. The BBQ Cook-Off is always a popular event, particularly with the People’s Choice Awards. Help select the best beans, brisket, fajitas, margaritas, ribs, and of course strawberry dessert.
Sign up your team for the Mud Volleyball competition, or steer clear of the mess and watch the groups battle it out for trophies and bragging rights. Booths featuring local cooks, artisans and more also go head to head for the Best Booth competition.
Everyone’s favorite berry deserves its own festival, and there’s none bigger than this Pasadena annual event. Come hungry, and taste for yourself what the best berries on earth can do.
