Armand Bayou Nature Center

This Texas Gulf Coast destination is a stunningly gorgeous retreat just a few miles from your Seabrook guest room. Known as the ABNC by locals, it’s near Clear Lake, a wetlands prairie protected by conservation efforts. Here, forests and marshes come together to create a one of a kind landscape. Programs are available so visitors can learn more about the “locals,” from alligators to hawks and bison to snakes. The Center’s Martyn Farm whisks visitors to a turn of the century farm in Texas where you can discover what life was like over 100 years ago.

See the ABNC from the perspective of a Bayou Ranger on an electronic pontoon, or try out a guided canoe tour. As one of the biggest urban wilderness areas in the country, the Center offers unparalleled recreational and educational opportunities for all visitors.

Get Back to Nature

Countless special events happen year-round, and in August there’s Farm Life Demos every Saturday and Sunday as well as Natural History Demos on Sundays. Don’t miss the Breakfast on the Bayou every Saturday on the pontoon, complete with your favorite pastries and juices. Guided trail hikes every Saturday are a great way to immerse yourself in nature.

Prairie Friday is your opportunity to stop in and flex your stewardship muscles with a variety of volunteer opportunities. End the day with a sunset pontoon cruise on Saturday, the perfect romantic date, solo venture geared towards reflection or family-friendly outing.
