An All-American Fourth
Whether you enjoy the old-fashioned Fourth of July events in Seabrook or head to Houston to celebrate, you can always count on Texas to go all out on this patriotic holiday. The Seabrook Kids Parade at Meador Park welcomes all children to march or ride trikes or bikes in the parade, , and take advantage of face painting, moon walks, hot dogs and more after the grand event. It’s the perfect outing for families on vacation.
The Kemah Boardwalk is known for its Fireworks Fridays at 9:30 p.m. every Friday over Galveston Bay—but the fireworks show gets kicked up a notch for Independence Day. On Independence Day there’s live music and a massive show at 9:30. You can also enjoy unlimited trips to Pleasure Pier, the Houston aquarium and downtown for just $59.99 with the Patriot Pass (passes available at the boardwalk).
Houston, We Have a Party
Freedom Over Texas takes place at Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston with live music starting at 4 p.m. Fireworks light up the sky as some of the biggest names in country music take to the stage for a patriotic display. Others prefer the shows at the 4th of July Weekend at CityCentre, a free series of concerts over four nights with a final fireworks spectacular July Fourth at 9:30 p.m.
The 4th Fest in nearby Pasadena is a local favorite. It’s free at the Pasadena Convention Center and is known for its impressive display. No matter where you choose to celebrate in the Seabrook area, you’ll be in for a real treat, because in Texas, it’s always go big or go home.
